The Road Less Traveled

So they say lawyers tend to be greedy and chase the big dollars? Well not all of them, at least not all of the time. I was impressed to learn that among many prominent appeals court judges, Barack is knows as "the one that got away" because after being the first Black editor of the Harvard Law Review, instead of following the traditional road to a prestigious law clerkship followed by a prestigious and high-paying corporate law firm (starting salaries tend to be about $160K with large bonuses for the most prestigious clerkships), Barack went to Chicago to do community and civil rights work. Perhaps we as a community would be better served if more of our so-called "talented tenth" made similar selfless choices...

I agree...and for those lawyers and other business folk who are unable or unwilling to make that sacrifice just yet, don't be discouraged, because there is still hope...On Caucus Day, remember that certain community and civil rights activist/presidential candidate who did! :)
